Title: Switched
Author: Amanda Hocking
Publisher:St.Martin's Griffin
Release Date:January 3, 2012
Book: Bought

When Wendy Everly was six years old, her mother was convinced she was a monster and tried to kill her. Eleven years later, Wendy discovers her mother might have been right. She’s not the person she’s always believed herself to be, and her whole life begins to unravel—all because of Finn Holmes.

Finn is a mysterious guy who always seems to be watching her. Every encounter leaves her deeply shaken…though it has more to do with her fierce attraction to him than she’d ever admit. But it isn’t long before he reveals the truth: Wendy is a changeling who was switched at birth—and he’s come to take her home.
Now Wendy’s about to journey to a magical world she never knew existed, one that’s both beautiful and frightening. And where she must leave her old life behind to discover who she’s meant to become…

There are many books out there in this world that have captured my heart. However there are only few books that that have captured it from the very beginning, and this book is one of them. Ms. Hocking has created a  world that I was able to enter and let myslef be captured by the words that told a story of one girl, Wnedy, who's life was about to be changed forever.

I see Wendy as a character who is stong, and capable of achieving anything. However, she is really picky about stuff (food, and shoes ect.) Her family, not including her mom, are some of the nicest people that one person could dream of having. Althoguh they have to put up with the pickiness of Wendy and her problems that happens, they always seem to care and love her at the end of the day. This is what a family is all about. Now for her mom, well all I can say that will describe her is "crazy." Yes, I can imagine how hard it must be to figure out that your child was switched when they were born, but going to the extreme of killling her was just going overboard.

I think the plot was well thought out. I was able to enter this world and not want to leave it
until the last page. This story was one of orginality that, like I said before, captured my heart to its fullest potential. With its many twists and turns, this book was one I could and would never want to put down. Filled with adventure, love, hate, and every emotion one could feel possibly.

I recommend this book to everyone out there in the reading world. I just want to say let this book touch your heart because for me it did more than that.

I give this book 5 souls!

Book: Given to by Author

Twins Sera and Luke Raine have a well-kept secret—she heals with a touch of her hand, he sees the future. All their lives they’ve helped those in need on the sly. They’ve always thought of their abilities as being a gift.

Then Luke has a vision that Sera is killed. That gift they’ve always cherished begins to feel an awful lot like a curse. Because the thing about Luke’s ability? He’s always right. And he can’t do anything about it.

First I like to start off with complaining how characters in books always get the coolest super powers. Why can't we get a taste of what they do. Its just not fair. Well after reading this book I found that not all super powers are a blessing. Especially the one where you can see your sister dying in the future. Let me just this, I am glad I am the way I am.

Intangible is set in a world where creatures (vampires, elves, etc.) exist but they are unknown in the human world. J. Meyers creates a world like no other that is able to capture the reader with ease and allow them to enter the book of wonder.

The plot I have to say was unique. What I imagined would happen in this book, didn't and that is why I found  this book, one to keep reading. The way that the author mixed different mythological things together at once really captivated my mind.

This  book is one that is a must read for those who love paranormal. I know I fell in love with it and I know you will too.

I give this book 4 souls!

The game resets; everyone forgets and starts to play it again.

Starr Hughes hasn’t believed in magic since her mother died. As a reporter for the school paper, she believes in hard facts. Hiding under the headmaster’s desk, planting bugs, and breaking into a fellow student’s home are all on her to-do list. So when she hears the mysterious group known as the It-Squad are about to start playing a secretive game, she wants to know more. She’s especially interested in the group’s gorgeous leader, Dylan Winchester.

With her boy-crazy best friend at her side, Starr is going to discover that not only are witches real, they need her help. Someone is using the game to steal their memories, their powers, and perhaps their lives.

I got to have a wonderful opportunity to interview Ms. Blake about her writing and so without further ado here is Ms. Blake.

1. What type of music do you listen to when writing?

Depends.  I have a way of finding songs that go perfect with a scene, and I daydream about the characters until the scene is just how I want it.  I listened to Lady In Red by Simply Red when writing the infamous ‘red dress scene’ in Crushed.  I listened to Billy Idol’s White Wedding when writing the dance scene in Witch Hunt.  Now I am listening to a lot of Motley Crue while writing my new hunter series.

2. Do you have a favorite spot in the house that you like to write in?

No.  I love to move around.  Sometimes I write at my desk, sometimes on the couch, sometimes at the kitchen table

3. What is your favorite book that you have read in 2012?

I am currently reading City of Bones by Cassandra Clare.  Love it!

4. If you could have dinner with any of your characters. Which character and why?

Jersey Clifford from Vampires Rule.  Although he is the bad guy (a werewolf) and I might not leave the table alive, I would love to talk to him.  He is interesting and so very dangerous.

5. Who inspires you to keep writing?

My characters.  For a short time they become my best friends.  When the story ends, it’s hard to say goodbye. But then there are new characters.  I love to breathe life into them and watch them grow.

6.  Can you briefly tell us about Witch Hunt?

A magical game of Hide n Seek begins.

Find the missing player and win.

The game resets; everyone forgets and starts to play it again.

I want to thank Ms. Blake again for allowing me to have this chance to ask her a few questions and I ask that all readers check out her book.

                                                                    He belongs with the others.

This book starts off with a intro that immediately captures my attention and lets me dive into its pages with an interest of wanting more. There were so many connections but overall it was good.

Charlie had my love with him from the moment he stepped onto the bus. Bullied from not only the other school students but also from his caretaker, Charlie's life is a life no one would wish for. However, Alex is the one person in the book that he can call a friend. Well until he meets his other soon to be friends.

Main Mission of the book is to get Derkein to Arcadia. However, its not so simple and well once you get there its even harder getting out. And when getting there they face problems of all sorts. With creatures that can morph and possess special powers, things aren't looking good. But these creatures are the only ones that have special powers.

This story was one of greatness and the demons were scary but that's what they are suppose to be anyway. This book is full of adventure that everyone should take apart of.

Review: Code of Silence

Title: Code of Silence
Author: Timothy Shoemaker
Publisher: Zondervan
Release Date: April 1, 2012
Book: Netgalley

Okay I haven't read a mystery book of this sort for a while now, so when I got past the first couple of chapters I was hooked. The feeling of suspense and wondering what could happen next, was a feeling that I love to experience when reading.

The characters were meant for each other. The bond that they shared when faced with a situation that other peoples lives were also faced with danger was incredible. I probably would have wet my pants with all the events that took place throughout the book. However, these three friends are able to make a new friend along the way that soon they too can share their bond with.

The plot flowed well with every sentence, and I never once had to put my book down. Like I mentioned this before this book is full of suspense that will leave you sitting on the edge of your toes.this book also contains friendship beyond all accords. The bond that is shown throughout these chapters is one that I believe anyone would like to have.

Review: Interrupted: life Beyond Words

Title: Interrupted: Life Beyond Words
Author: Rachel Coker
Publisher: Zondervan
Release Date: February 14, 2012
Book: Netgalley

Can love really heal all things? If Sam Carroll hadn't shown up, she might have been able to get to her mother in time. Instead, Allie Everly finds herself at a funeral, mourning the loss of her beloved mother. She is dealt another blow when, a few hours later, she is sent from Tennessee to Maine to become the daughter of Miss Beatrice Lovell, a prim woman with a faith Allie cannot accept. Poetry and letters written to her mother become the only things keeping Allie's heart from hardening completely. But then Sam arrives for the summer, and with him comes many confusing emotions, both toward him and the people around her. As World War II looms, Allie will be forced to decide whether hanging on to the past is worth losing her chance to be loved.

This is the first Historical Christian book that I have had the chance to review. I wasn't sure what to expect when diving into its pages. I didn't know how this book was to be written, but in the end I enjoyed it.

Allies' mom, I am sorry to say, was a little crazy sometimes. Although it was sad when she died, part of me wanted to shed some tears for her but the other part was asking "why?" With Allie, I could understand some of the stuff that she was going through but other than that I found her a little rude. Every time that she was offered both love and support she would turn it down. I didn't see a  point to that, I could understand with her background but it wasn't necessary.

Sam was what made this book enjoyable. He always had a positive attitude and he just had that positive feeling around him that made him enjoyable.

There were some rough spots in this book that didn't allow the sentences to fully flow. However, overall this book was one that I enjoyed for  it being a different genre.

Review: Guardians: The Girl

Title: Guardians: The Girl
Author: Lola St. Vil
Publisher: Amazon Digital Services
Release Date: N/A
Book: Given to by Author

Emmy - a bookish, witty student - is rescued by six teenaged angels with powers, called Guardians. They've been sent to elicit the secret from her before the demons can. Emmy later learns that her name is the only clue to locating a sought-after bridge that for centuries, Evil has plotted to destroy; this would in turn bring about the end of humanity.

Things get worse when Emmy falls madly in love with Marcus, the well-intentioned but obstinate leader of the Guardians. He eventually confesses that he is in love with her as well. Unfortunately, Marcus has been warned by his clairvoyant and omniscient guide that should he and Emmy get together, the mission will fail and humanity will perish.

I haven't really read a book about angels in a while. I was going through an angel phase in reading, but I am over that now. I was really excited to dive into this book, and find out how the angels in here were portrayed. I liked it!

Emmy is just your ordinary girl...or so we thought. After being attacked and than rescued was part of her agenda when attending school. Things were about to change for her. Not always for the better. Emmy I believe is a strong girl that won't back out of a fight. However, she does cause drama for a particular angel, and brings lots of news to the angel community.

Readers, choose very carefully who you fall for in life, because that person may have another person and that person may know how to fight. Possibly even want to kill you. Just saying. If you want to know more info, all you have to do is read.

The plot is continuously flowing and I never have problems with not continuing. This book is not a book that has happiness flowing through its pages. There is emotions of all sort, action, adventure. This book was a book that I wouldn't read if I wanted to be all full of happiness and joy. Ms. Vil brings about emotions that one would such as I or any other person reading this would go into depression.

I recommend this book to people who are looking for a good book to sit and read. However, if your are the reader looking for a book to like I said be full of joy, put it down. Ms. Vil words that are presented will change you, to see emotions of sadness and broken hearts.

I give this book 4 souls!

Review: Notes to Self

Title: Notes to Self
Author: Avery Sawyer
Publisher: N/A
Release Date: November 2011
Book: Received from Author

Two climbed up. Two fell down.

One woke up.

In the aftermath of a traumatic brain injury, Robin Saunders has to relearn who she is and find out what happened the night everything changed.

Notes to Self is a book that allows the reader to take a journey through the mind of a girl who recently went through a traumatic brain injury. We are able to see what this girl is going through and how her world has changed around her.

Avery is able to take Robin's character and put a perspective on it that any reader would feel utter remorse for. We are able to understand the emotions, that she as a character is facing throughout this book with the words that are full of descriptiveness and meaning. We see how a girl, from flashbacks, changed from just a accident that made a lasting impact on her life.

Avery brings wonder to this book. Not in the sense that we should feel happiness for the character, but with the sense that we don't realize in our own lives what a person, like Robin, may be going through. Throughout this book we are able to picture the hate emotions that come from fellow classmates because she was the one walking while the other girl was suffering from a coma.

This book is able to bring a different perspective to the books that I usually read and with this book leave an impacting message in my mind. I recommend all readers to give this book a chance and go through the mind of Robin and picture emotions and see what even the people around you might be feeling.

Review: The Anti-Social Network

Title: The Anti-Social Network
Author: Sadie Hayes
Publisher: Backlit Fiction
Release Date: October 22,2011
Book: Given to by Author

In the second breath-taking novel of The Start-Up series, Sadie Hayes is able to capture the reader with multiple twists and turns that leaves the reader wanting more. I just wish that this book was longer. However, this author is able to write this book short/long enough to entangle the minds of all who read.

Amelia is a head-strong girl that doesn't lose herself, even when presented with a job that can change their lives forever. She is able to work hard and still have time to hand out with her old coder friends. Maybe start a relationship with one. But I won't tell. You as the reader need to find out yourself.

Adam on the other hand, takes this new change in a different way that one would say "overboard." I am not saying that his head is not in the right place, but the way that he is approaching it, is not the smartest of ways that a person could. At the end of the book, I feel bad for him. Cliff hangers are suppose to do exactly what the name says. Leaves you hanging from a cliff. And trust me this one does.

Overall the plot was yet so riveting that I wasn't able to put this book down until the very end. Not that it is a bad thing. I recommend this "short" book to everyone who loves books that will leave you wanting more. Ms. Hayes left me breathless after reading the last word.

I give this book 5 souls!

Review: The Start-Up

Title: The Start-Up
Author: Sadie Hayes
Publisher: Backlit Fiction
Release Date: October 17, 2011
Book: Given to by Author

When a college freshman's breakthrough software program catapults her into the limelight, she and her twin brother must navigate a treacherous world of money, power, and envy: Silicon Valley.

In a world of tweets, apps, and mobile games, The Start-Up is a fast-paced and exciting serial story with a new episode released each month.

Okay before I state of how much I totally loved, loved this book, I have one complaint. Just one! To Short. Literally this book left you wanting me more. I don't like when books leave you, the reader, wanting more. Okay well I got that out of my system now, so now lets move on to the review.

First thing I would love to mention is the plot. It was so compelling in a way that it wasn't letting me want to take a break. Every time, I thought I could take a quick break to go to the restroom, something would happen and I would continue reading. Captivating.

The main characters in this book are cool, funny and well the brother is a little selfish. I kind of by the end of the book, wasn't a real fan but I still had my liking for him. I'm not the kind of person to easily give up on a person. Maybe they can change. Who knows!

Filled with so many twists and turns that will leave you wanting more. This book brings a whole new life to the world of reading. The way that its words are able to captivate you is truly magical.

I recommend this book to anyone who says that they are truly book lovers. This book will leave you wanting more and who knows, its words may leave you awestruck like it did me.

I give this book 5 souls!

Okay being asked to read this book was an honor for me at first. I didn't know what a novelogue was until I opened the book to its first page. Was I caught by surprise. The way the book was written was a thing I didn't know if I was going to be able to get used to. However, that didn't stop me and overall I loved the book.

I liked how the the main character switched roles going from video game designer to next big time actor. Total life switched. He had some hard time starting out especially with one of his co-stars. But everyone has to go through with having a thorn in their side.

The plot and story line flowed freely through out the book. I never had the moment of when I wanted to put down the book. I continued and every word I fell in love with.

I recommend this book to people who are looking for a different kind of read. Especially for the way it is written. This book contains, love, humor, the sense of never giving up ect.

I give this book 4 souls!
